Evolution is not merciful. It is the fight to death and survive. Organism should adapt to environment which consists flora, fauna, climate and geography. For example sometimes big rocks fall down from the sky. 65 million years ago dinosaurs had been seem very successful in that fight however they did not think to build space security system for big asteroids and their forgetfulness had prepared their extinction.
From first living organism to our present time many and many species had tried their chances and attended to this fight. Many of them could not survive like dinosaurs; however there were several different causes. Some of them could not make it because of the sudden climate changes whereas the others were victims of big predators. This is nature and as we said evolution is not merciful.
Among these extinct animals and plants there are some of them that when we heard their names or see their illustrations we feel guilty. Since the main cause of their extinction was us, homo sapiens. Mammoths are the perfect answer for them. However, maybe we should try to think like we, homo sapiens, are products and parts of nature too. Though we have neither sharp big teeth nor powerful claw, homo sapiens are the most fatal animal ever born in the world. Homo sapiens are ecological serial killers who responsible from lots of extinctions.
45000 years ago the first handmade extinctions had been started in Australia. Sapiens, wise men, had passed to the Australia where one of the main land of Marsupial animals was. They were glorious since they were the first terrestrial mammals ever succeed to pass Australia, 45000 years later they would be the first terrestrial mammals ever to walk on the moon however they would not be the first mammal to travel space because during 45000 years they have learned to put another mammal like monkey to transporter before the dangerous journey. In fact they chose their cousin to put in space craft. The other important note from that journey was, many mammals who had tried to journey in sea, had several mutations, but homo sapiens did it with tools and boots which were the product of their brain.
As a consequence, more than 90 per cent of Australia's mega fauna which was almost steady during 1,5 million years, suddenly disappeared around 45000 years ago. Of the twenty-four Australian animal species weighing fifty kilograms or more, became extinct. A large number of smaller species also disappeared. Food chains throughout the entire Australian ecosystem were broken and rearranged. It was the most important transformation of the Australian ecosystem for millions of years. Ecosystem was not ready to homo-sapiens, many large animals had met with sapiens first time, sapiens were different from the other predators, they did not have any big teeth or claws they were not seeming threatening however they had ability to use fire and tools.
Extinct Animals:
Diprotodon: Largest marsupial had ever lived in the world.
Zygomaturus: similar to the modern pygmy hippopotamus in both size and build.
Procoptodon (Giant Kangaroo): 2 m height with 232 kgs.
Marsupial Lion: carnivorous marsupial mammal that lived in Australia.
These were just few big animals had extinct around 45000 years ago. Furthermore, there are lots of giant birds and big marsupials more even big plants.
Role of Homo sapiens in these extinction is still debateful, there are such theories like climate change too. However whether sapiens were the main cause or minor cause, it is fact that they played a role in that extinction as we are still doing and had already did to many species.
